I went shopping today at a store called Forever 21. It’s a pretty huge store. Many different shapes and colours. Pretty neat, reasonably priced stuff. I bought a few things. Someone asked me why all of a sudden I started shopping because I usually don’t. I replied I’d be going back to Winnipeg soon and that I wanted to load up on stuff that you can’t get in Winnipeg. Right after I said it I felt shallowish. I wanted to load up on “unique” things that can’t be found in wpg so that I could prance around in wpg w/ them. It wasn’t so much about making the best of an opportunity or taking advantage of a limited resource. It was more the potential of prancage of unique items in wpg that others there would not have seen.

I’m over it now though. I liked the few things I got. I tried to get items that were colourful and covered me up. It’s really difficult wearing hijab and still feeling somewhat fashionable. Ashley looked over the stuff and as a result I have to go back and return sth. Which reminds me… I have to visit the hijab shops before I leave… and I need shoes, and I need pants… and I need to visit IKEA. I’m gonna come back to wpg pennyless :(.

I’m getting weird spammish comments by some online poker place. I’m shutting down comments for a while until I can manage the harassment better.

Today I went on a cooking rampage. I was supposed to be done today, but I got lazy and decided to leave things to “marinate” and finish it tomorrow. My goal was shake n’ bake chicken, thai bbq chicken, taco meat, Indonesian meat balls and another Indonesian meat dish. I managed to complete the shake n’ bake chicken and the taco meat. The other three are marinating in the fridge. The Thai chicken needs to be grilled. The meatballs need to be fried. The Indonesian meat needs to be cooked w/ the coconut milk based-sauce. I’ll post up pics tomorrow.

After a day of cooking, I went to see the new “Miss Congeniality 2″ flick w/ Marriam and Keri (she’s back from the forest but leaving again tomorrow morning). I liked it. Sandra Bullock did a good job. I’m a sequel-hater and even I liked it. I think the hot peppers have embedded themselves into my finger pores though. I’m really scared of Salmonella so I washed my hands profusely during all of my cooking but I can’t get my hands to be un-spicy. At the movie I ended up having spicy popcorn and flossing tonight was a strange experience.
