A society’s willingness to reflect/educate on the world is directly proportional to the society’s feelings of its own security, particularly financial it seems. It’s too bad that the two are so dependent. A few seasons ago box office winners were Blood Diamonds, Body of Lies, The Last King of Scotland, etc. Now we have major motion pictures about mall cops. We’ve had two in a row in fact.
