April17

kinda tired and don’t feel like writing. however here are a few notes on how the trip went. you can fill in the blanks.

Left Winnipeg at around 3pm Thursday. Drove. Arrived in Calgary around 7am Friday. Slept 2 hours. Went to the first appointment. After went to second appointment. I slept. Mohammad went out. Woke up, had dinner, went back to bed. Saturday went to IKEA, Chinook mall, outlet mall (but closed). That night went out to eat. It was late though. Went to Verve. Closed. Went to Sahara. Closed. Went to China town. Very active and bustling. Had dinner at around 11pm. Next day started around 11am. Arrived in Winnipeg around 1am.

I’ll fill in more details when I have the energy.

Hi. I miss you. I’m glad you’re back. I was feeling a strange feeling of nusraat deprivation this weekend and thought to call you, but alas, you were off gallivating in calgary. The nerve!

more details: The night before the trip I had a migraine. In retrospect I’m glad I had it so it was gone from my system. I woke up around 9am the next morning and continued to pack up. Clothes didn’t take so long. Food was my main focus. I cut up fruit and vegetables. I had flat bread for hummus and guacamole (which I made) and I made like 10 sandwiches. There was also some chocolate and crackers. Mohammad started driving to Brandon around 2 or 3pm. We wasted some time in Brandon driving around looking for their masjid which we didn’t end up finding. Then I drove from Brandon to Regina. Once there we had a nice dinner at Kelseys. I’m glad we took the time to do that or else the next day would have been even worse. Mohammad drove from Regina to Medicine Hat. I slept a bit. That was kind of stressful because we were running out of gas and kept passing closed gas stations until we finally got to Medicine Hat. It was around 4am when I started driving from Medicine Hat. I drove for about 2 hours and then woke up Tipu to take over because I was falling asleep. He drove the rest of the way to Calgary. We arrived at Calgary around 7am and we both fell asleep in the car parked at the Safeway near China town. More later…

    more info:

so that day (friday) we woke up and had breakfast and washed up at a Second Cup. all day we had appointments. finally at around 4pm i was done. i was tired and starving. i ate, went to a friend’s house and slept until like 10pm. tipu doesn’t need sleep so he went out with some friends. i woke up and had something else to eat, took a shower and went back to bed. i did stay awake long enough to chat up with our hosts some. the next day we woke up had something to eat and went to ikea, chinook mall, an outlet mall (but it was closed) and we went out to eat. we went to china town. i never knew this but at chinese restaurants they have separate menu in chinese with items that are different from the english menu.

the next day we left around 11am. we got delayed some b/c harry potter was playing. tipu drove all the way back. i wanted to drive but he said he was fine. we arrived at 1am or so. the end.

hmmm with the Chinese menu thing..they should do that with some Indian menus..cause u go some places and their food is just not how it should be…let me say catered to Canada..does that make sense…or they should just give everyone the true taste, and then people will understand that it’s just Indian food!
