Tipu found this restaurant a while ago and we went there for my berfday yesturday. We didn’t have too much because we had already had fries at the Golf Dome. We ordered the hot and sour soup and we had Laap. Laap is dried up/grated meat with spices served with lettuce, cucumber and sticky rice. There’s three different traditional ways you can eat Laap. You can put the meat and sticky rice on the cucumber slices and eat it like an appetizer. You can put the rice and meat in the whole romaine lettuce leaf and have it like a taco or you can make your own rice ball and stab your thumb in it and put the meat in the indentation. Laap reminded me of shutki. The restaurant looks drabby from the outside but pretty, warm and friendly in the inside. The service was really good.
The hot and sour soup was pretty much the same as the Thai version. I have one pet peeve about such soups. I understand it’s all about the savoury spicy broth and everything but I really do think they should put more solid objects in such soups. Veggies, shrimp, meat, whatever… more than three of each I say.
3.75/5
{the husband has hijacked and sabotaged this post to finally call an end to the decimal fractions rating system! It sadly sucks. Ladies and Gentlemen voice your opinions about the OUT of 5 stars thing that you see right below. It’s a demo for now, it will be implemented sitewide once the vote is out. REMEMBER: It doesn’t have to be stars, it could be bananas, apples, oranges, thumbs - up, spoons, frying pans, forks, knives, or what have you, muhahahahahah!!!! }
How was the golf dome?
man in all my years…lol my life living in Winnipeg I have NEVER been to the Golf dome…and I think I have been alive for pretty long lol.
What do they got there…mini golf? driving? Haha I guess I could go on the website?!
Sounds like an interesting place!
So whats up with this 3.75/5 stuff? Didn’t anybody ever tell you decimals and fractions don’t mix? What kind of engineer are you anyways?
Way to go Mohammad! I vote for bananas!
strange couple.
i like stars. preferably PINK SPARKLY STARS
how about jars of salsa?
something with a nusraat twist
OK, Bananas, Pink Sparkly Stars, Jars of Salsa….
Keep it coming people.
How about little tiny floating Nusraat’s? (like the one at the top)
How about little boxes of milk? NUsraat LOOOOOOOOOOOOVES milk.
Brilliant Rob! tiny floating Nusraat. I think thats one good idea to keep in mind.
chocolate cakes
Ok, after some convincing and reasoning, I have finally come to an agreement with Nusraat to use the “floating nusraat” (Rob’s suggestion) as a rating icon. So, I will be working on that as a final choice.
Thanks for the rest of you who suggested other cool ideas. It makes more sense to have the “floating nusraat” because it would be more meaningful to her blog.
So, the rating system with be out of five and will have half (1/2) in-between numbers. There will be only x.5 and no x.25 or x.75 etc. So, all historical rating will be adjusted. Obviously, I have to ask Nusraat for the adjustments. I am already happy I am able to do this!
yaaay for floating lil nusraats
Half a Nusraat should be just be her head!
Vince,
That would be scary dont you think? Umm, how about just the head and some grey colored outline for the rest? But, I guess for the sake or experimenting I’ll do both.
Are you saying your wife has a scary head? Careful man. Hope you like the couch
