This post is of little use. Not much up right now. Went to a rollerskating rink last night. I think the last time I went to one was in fifth or sixth grade. A friend had booked it out for a group of people. I don’t understand why rollerblades took so long to come out. I mean ice skates have been around forever, so what took people so long to figure out putting the wheels in a row, in the middle and having them thinner than your fist? How do people socialize while rollerskating? I didn’t quite figure it out.
I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in the clean room lately. Trying to sputter oxide. There’s something awfully frustrating about that environment. You look like the Michelin Man. You’re also fumbling around in un-taut gloves (they don’t have small enough sizes) trying not to touch your face, sneeze, or break your sample (which I’ve done). A simple task can take easily a half an hour. You’ve also got to schedule your tasks so it kind of reminds me of the laundry room.
I started going to the gym again. I am working harder than before. Consistently breaking a sweat. I realize I need to make changes in my eating habits. I stopped eating chips. I stopped eating fries. I got the most amazing cheesecake and I took it to school and shared it with my labmates in attempt to reduce the risk of me eating it all by myself. I baked chocolate chip cookies this weekend. They turned out amazing. I’ve limited myself to a maximum of three in one day. Tipu will end up finishing them before long. I think I’m going to hide some for myself.
Started playing around with a mask design software called Cadence. I find it aggravating. All software is awkward when you start out but this one really tests my patience. You can tell by the fact that some of my files are cuss names. I think I’ll eventually like it though. The last software I learned was Matlab I think and I really like it now.
rollerskating? Didn’t we all go with school in grade 9? I thought we did but maybe not and I am confusing it with a dream I had one time.
What kinds of masks are you designing?
Well, the wheels on rollerblades are made from different material and the bearings are different as well.
I think it’s more of a culture thing than anything else. The appeal of rollerskates is that any idiot can rollerskate b/c balancing is easy. Rollerblades are much harder and cause people to fall, which isn’t so fun for most people.
Hmm… last “language” I learned? Probably css.
I don’t know, did we go in grade 9? I don’t remember. I’m designing lithographic masks for my sensor. My advisor would describe it as “pushing boxes around”.
It’s very awkward to turn on rollerskates and my are they heavy.
never tried roller skating..only blading…I probably would find it VERY HARD to rollerskate as I learned as a kid on rollerblades…and that’s what I like
