Well Ramadhan is here. I’m a little nervous. It’s a spiritual month and you feel like a fool if you don’t spend it wisely. We had some people over for Iftar today. It’s like the third or fourth time we’ve had people over. So I’m improving but there’s still room for much more improvement. I find entertaining a really important social skill so I hope to figure it out eventually.
Tuesday I’m presenting my thesis progress to our research group. A little nervous of course. I have the outline in my head. I meet with my advisor tomorrow to go through it.
I’ve been TA-ing a lot lately. This week will be the last of the blitz. Then it’ll be back to one course. I’m actually substituting for someone else so although I appreciate the opportunity I’m looking forward to the lull. Lulls are good. I got some serious thesis stuff to get through. I need something publishable in the next few months. No pressure. Right.
Someone reminded me to choose my battles. I guess I have actually. Sometimes you just have to walk away.
So looks like I am going to have to find a way to work-out during Ramadhan. I really don’t know how to fit it in. I was planning on waiting to renew my gym membership but I think it can’t wait. We’ll see. My struggle is to do enough so that change occurs. I was really spoiled in the past with a wild metabolism where I never in my life have had to lose weight, did not regular exercise and ate whatever I pleased. I saw the Oprah guidelines and they seem a little intense. No white stuff? I love the potato. I have to admit though, the no late night eating needs to be adopted. I had been running a mile a day. I was so proud of myself. However, sadly I don’t think that was even sufficient. According to the Oprah website, I need to start weight-training to increase bone density. *Sigh*
eating late at nite is awesome!!! Bad habit I know…lol
Wanna join soccer Nusraat? Helps keep the late-night caloric intake from taking affect.
Apparently you can run up to 9 km in a game. I’m sure sweatin’ it out in traditional coverings will help shed even more excess poundage….of which you have none.
lubna: i think it’s grody now.
Christy: I dont think I can make the commitment. Sounds awesome but I can so see myself skipping out. Plus I can’t remember the last time (if ever) I got formally trained in soccer. I would be pathetic on the field.
we all know you are a great soccer player Nusraat, IM SERIOUS!!!!
Ooohh, I’d drag your lazy/study butt to each and every game. >:)
Don’t worry, I wasn’t being serious about you joining…but if you ever did really want to join, I’d turn serious like that. *tries to snap*
lubna: i dont ever remember you seeing me.
