Random Blatherings

I went to the Greek Market today and scored me some pickled hot peppers. They didn’t have the spicy pickled baby eggplant so the search will continue for them. The small market contained very little raw ingredients. Their focus was on already prepared food. It all looked good. There was a woman who came in to pick up her order that so reminded me of Carmella from Sopranos. She was one of those rich wives from high society, very busy, very chic, well groomed, worked out a lot, drove a Mercedes coupe and I couldn’t help thinking how complicated her life must be.

I also went to the Halal Meat Market on Maryland. Even if you’re not Muslim I suggest going there for fresh lamb or very different ingredients or foreign spices. Today I saw they had dried powdered pomegranate. I picked up some things including a Aver magazine which is some new Canadian Muslim Youth magazine. I haven’t really read it yet so I can’t say if it’s good or not.

Yesterday I saw three baby bunnies rough-housing and playing. They were so adorable. They were far different from bunnies in Edmonton. Edmonton bunnies are gangsta. They are tall, would be snow white but are not because of the trouble they get themselves into, relatively fearless, they’ll gallop through groups of ppl with no problem and just plain unpleasant. Well, just the ones I saw at the U of A campus atleast. There the bunnies run the show. People avoid the bunnies instead of the bunnies avoiding the people.

U of M Fort Garry campus. They were having a jolly good time but were being slightly wreckless. They forgot themselves and ran towards me then realized I wasn’t an inanimate and then took their play elsewhere.
